This skateboard brake is a revolution in the longboard sport.

 

 The POGO-Brake can be mounted on any longboard-skateboard (see clearance).It is a completely independent system, it does not put friction into the wheels like most other braking systems do.So you do not wear down your wheels or burn your bearings. Riding advantages: Bombing:Compared to footbraking, there is no torsion momentum, because this brake is centered at the rear end of the deck.You no longer need sideroom for braking. No more scary situations and swaying board due to sketchy footpositioning.Also, you will never get your braking foot into the rear wheel again!No more wearing down your shoes or gluing soles necessary.Moreover, this brake kills speedwobbles in the germ. A slight touch on the brake stabilizes the board better than anything else.From aero-speed-tuck with your knee inside and your heel already in the air, you are just a jiffy away from braking position, so riders with brakes can react faster than riders without . Everyday cruising:Cruising is more relaxed with this brake simply because you can react faster if other people or obstacles get into your way.  Barefoot riding:Now all those beachcruising longboarders will be happy to be able to brake with the surfboards under their arm, when riding barefoot or with flip-flops.

 Beginners:With this system, braking is very easy. You always stand stable with two feet on the board, just lifting the heel of your rear foot to activate the pedal.If beginners brake too hard, this system does not seize to throw off the rider with a highsider, his weight gets shifted to the front and off the pedal which loosens the brake again.After several tries, any skater will be able to brake really hard because you can put almost your whole weight on the brake. Riders have been testing the brake in many freerides and IGSA races and this one thing is for sure:The brake makes your riding safer, -also and mainly at topspeeds!… and it doesn’t keep you from sliding or footbraking when you have room around you. Mount and use are dead simple. You only have to mount two pieces onto your board.The pad-holder and the pedal. An adhesive drilling template is included. Position it right in front of the rear truck along the middle line of the board.Drill 4 tiny holes, same pattern and diameter as for a truck baseplate near the center of the board.Then you drill a 10mm hole near the rear truck.That’s it! …as far as the modification of your board is concerned. Fix the brake under the deck with 4 screws like you would fix a truck. (You can even use risers or angle pads to adjust)You screw the pedal from the top through the 10 mm hole in the deck into the pad-holder and tighten the lock nut.Off you go!The friction pad can be replaced when it’s worn down (2 Screws).A 10mm plug is included to seal the 10mm hole, in case you want to ride the board without brake. Sewing disclaimer:ATTENTION:  A skateboard equipped with this brake may only be used on flat terrain in closed skate parks. It must not be used at speeds above walking speed. This brake must not be used in public roads or public traffic. This brake can fail at any time, so the rider has to manage his speed in a way that he can always jump off the board safely in case the brake fails. This brake can provoke instant stops due to hard use or failiure. Skateboarding is hazardous sport. Falling down from a skateboard can result in injury or death.
